Recruiting a people-oriented HR manager has a pivotal role to play in the growth of a company. An HR manager is the backbone of an organization who has myriad responsibilities on the shoulder. Talent acquisition, streamlining workflow, ensuring productivity, addressing organizational challenges, and rolling out best HR policies aligned with the company goals are the responsibilities of a manager. To sum up, an HR manager maintains a positive workplace culture and ensures organizational effectiveness.
Hence, every organization gives a lot of importance to recruit the best HR manager.
Hiring Our HR Manager
While we were looking for an HR manager at ScaleupAlly (IT service provider in Noida), our recruitment criteria were clear. We wanted to recruit a person who would prove a great team player with multitasking ability.
Recently we hired Manisha Laur as our HR Manager. Her professional qualification, work experience as an HR Specialist in the IT sector, and positive frame of mind impressed us. She loves being a part of the ScaleupAlly family and has candidly shared her experiences and feedback with us.
About Manisha Laur – HR Manager @ ScaleupAlly
Manisha is a dedicated teammate who is an expert in handling every aspect related to human resources. Her work attitude and ethics help her strike a perfect balance between work and fun at our organization.
1. Manisha, we are happy to have you on board. What three top things do you look for in a self-nourishing career?
First thing that I look for in a self-nourishing career is learning. For me, learning is an ongoing process that enriches and makes one more confident in professional life. Second important thing for me is constant support and guidance from my supervisors and mentors. Third thing is compensation and benefits associated with my job profile.
2. Has there been any pain point in your career? How ScaleupAlly addressed the issue?
I have been working with ScaleupAlly for the past four months. It has been such a positive experience for me. In my previous organization, undue work pressure proved a big hurdle for me. But at ScaleupAlly, things are different.
ScaleupAlly has a supportive work environment. The absence of unnecessary work pressure facilitates work management more systematically. My mentors ensure I get a stress-free environment to do my work. They are empathetic towards me in every situation.
3. How ScaleupAlly helps in mastering your skills?
Joining ScaleupAlly has been a step up towards my professional growth. I keep learning and pick up newer skills with the constant support and guidance of my seniors here.
My job profile earlier was restricted to resource management. But, at ScaleupAlly I can explore all possible avenues of human resource management. Here, I get ample opportunity to gather more knowledge as an integral part of HRBP.
It is my pleasure to work as a Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP). Such kind of partnership has helped me to master my HR skills. It feels great to chart out the HR agenda and policies with senior growth partners at ScaleupAlly. I have also learned how to connect with people and build good relationships. It has been a huge growth for me in terms of knowledge improvement – spanning from resource management to people management.
4. As you said, you have learnt new things at ScaleupAlly. Could you share your experience?
In my HRBP role, I have learnt several new things – such as designing the appraisal framework for ScaleupAlly, working on employee survey systems to study employee satisfaction levels, and creating people-friendly HR policies.
5. What is the strategy that you take as an HR manager to drive the business result?
6. Soft skills play an important role in the workplace. What are your viewpoints on soft skills development at ScaleupAlly?
7. What is the image of an ideal workplace for you?
An ideal workplace is a place that believes in autonomy rather than autocracy. Too much autocracy and micromanagement is a big obstacle for company growth. Having autonomous power in work planning and execution promotes accountability and responsibility for all client projects.
8. It is so pleasant to hear. Manisha, did ScaleupAlly happen to give you the autonomy to make decisions?
ScaleupAlly does not believe in micromanagement. A flexible work schedule makes it so easy-going for all of us. Offices have opened after lockdown, but ScaleupAlly mentors have never forced us to come to the office. Some of us work remotely, but that has never been a hindrance to the regular workflow. Never do we miss out on work deadlines.
My mentors have always allowed me to make autonomous decisions. This makes me professionally execute my work. It feels good to have autonomy because that puts in more zeal to the scheme of work. It keeps me motivated for better performance in the organization.
9. What are your takeaways from the company culture?
Well, talking about cultural takeaways I highly appreciate the organization’s adherence to transparency and open communication. There is no hierarchy to be followed when talking to the top management leaders. I can easily communicate my professional and personal problems with CEO Manu and senior leaders. Everyone can directly reach the seniors without any fear or hesitation.
10. So Manisha, do you see yourself working with the company for five years from now?
I love to work at ScaleupAlly and would like to continue here for another five years. In the long run, I would like to see myself in a position where I get better opportunities and compensation. This includes a higher designation and perks that would be motivating for me.
11. Could you share a cherishing memory from the first few days after joining ScaleupAlly?
On the third day of my work at ScaleupAlly, a power cut in our area left me feeling apprehensive about how to approach Manu regarding the issue and how he would react to it. However, I was pleasantly surprised by his supportive attitude and his openness to my decision to work on Saturday to compensate for the missed work.
12. What about the best adjective you could associate with ScaleupAlly?
Friendly is the adjective that best suits the work environment at ScaleupAlly. The supportive ambiance of the organization makes me feel at home.
