Introduction
Shipz is an Australia-based online intelligence marketplace connecting shippers with the world’s best service providers. The platform consists of two users, shippers and service providers. Shipz is a dedicated group of supply-chain practitioners who partnered with like-minded collaborators from around the world to build the platform. ScaleupAlly was hired by Shipz since the initial stages of the project, and the project lasted for 7.5 months. In this case study, we’ll explore the methodology and results of the project.
Methodology and Solution
ScaleupAlly’s team of six worked on the development of the Shipz platform using various technologies. The team was involved in creating the UI/UX designs for the Shipz modules and helped with the planning of the dropshipping modules. The platform was developed using React Js for the frontend development and NodeJs for the backend development. MySql DB was used for database management, while AWS EC2 was used for hosting the platform. REST and GraphQL APIs were integrated to ensure the smooth flow of data.
The team followed an agile methodology to ensure that the project met the client’s requirements. Daily stand-up meetings were held to ensure that each team member was aware of their tasks and progress, while weekly sprints were set to ensure that the project was delivered within the set timeframe.
Results
The development of the Shipz platform took 7.5 months, and the results were impressive. The platform is now fully functional, allowing shippers to connect with the best service providers. The platform is user-friendly, and the UI/UX design ensures a smooth user experience. The dropshipping modules have also been successfully integrated into the platform.
Shipz has received positive feedback from both shippers and service providers. The platform has successfully created a marketplace that connects both parties, making it easier for shippers to find the best service providers.
